My first trip to China took place about ten months ago. He went further than he ever traveled outside the U.S. This time I was more at home in preparation for my departure later. Do not have time to remember the long flight, language barriers, visa or potential problems are well documented in the records of many foreign students visiting the United States was already an experienced traveler in the Far East, which has about 18,000 km and worth almost a week of sightseeing. However, despite repeated warnings about the unbearable heat during the summer months while still not moving. After all, summer in New York is not without its stifling humidity. What he soon found he was no match for walking the streets of China Town in August.

Tourism in China is a wonderful experience at any time of year. My first trip was in October 2003, a trip on business and pleasure. On both occasions I was fortunate to make many new friends, if you are a foreign traveler whose only experience with Chinese culture and tradition from a sheet of 0.00 dinner in the elegant restaurant, Jade-lined apartment in his corner, which is a valuable asset they own. When considering future travel plans, however, first I suggest, if you are on a budget, choose a time of low activity, such as October. In the summer months in China are not only hot, but they are more expensive, probably, except holidays, to cover. As I quickly learned, at any time between May and September, with prices on flights from New York start the journey from 000 and go up about another 30,000 meters away … You get the idea.

I did a lot of due diligence in finding affordable flights during this period, spending almost as much time on the phone or online, as we did holiday there first. What I found was even though many of these online travel companies do not produce rates that are much better than going through traditional travel agencies, all drawn from the same well. When you find a reasonable rate, you should know pretty quickly what your travel dates are exactly the opposite risk of losing it. This happened to me, and in a matter of seconds.

If you have more time to find the best rates, help to find a travel agent for specific world are traveling a. Although we lost the original tax online, I was lucky to get one better through a Chinese agent saving me a 0 in this process. So there is no room for maneuver, however, should explore all options and have time to be picky. I did and it worked so well as it could – and return a connection to New York to China in August in a high not so bad! Be warned, however, compensation for the special price tickets is that there is no flexibility – another point that I discovered later. If you need to change the travel date or time or departure time, a city, so forget it. You then buy a new ticket. Are inside and outside before buying. Or … I just want to stop in October, prices are much lower, about half of what they are in summer, and if you can program, “National Day” holiday in China begins in October and lasts a week! Not a bad idea.

My first time in China was one of educational and entertaining, although it was a mixture of research and tourism. For the most part, my time was spent mainly in the city of Wuxi, a beautiful location in Jiangsu Province, which is both exotic and cosmopolitan city, within walking distance of some big cities like Shanghai or Beijing. This time my goal was twofold, to visit some friends who have done it before, and to explore investment opportunities in what has become the economic history of explosive growth – “the speed of capitalism,” is a return to a thought presented by none other than Bill Gates in a magazine article before.

There are always boasting about how good it is to meet people in foreign countries, so do not worry about the cities of travel, accommodation, communication, etc.. And while this is absolutely true – that a meeting with my friend outside the Beijing Capital International Airport and knowing that I had my personal guide to take me from one place to another was a relief – setting up shop in Next day Beijing Holiday Inn Central Plaza was not the worst thing in the world. This hotel is located in commercial and civil Guanganmen near the municipal building new government delegation in a stone’s throw from the Beijing Financial Street. I do not know how far they can throw a stone now, but came nowhere near to any front or side entrances to the hotel. Not that I had no business dealing with municipal government first, but for reference purposes, suffice it to say that the Inn is centrally located, while only about 40 minutes walk from the airport.

Upon checking in, we had to go back to my travel diary to ensure that, in fact, make appropriate plans. A Holiday Inn? Covered with a marble lobby, luxury living room piano, and brass button to see the elevators? Granted it was a new installation, but all I remember about the Holiday Inn, compared to the one we saw at home was the price – per night, or about 350 Chinese yuan. Sad thing is that we were on the road so have not had a chance to use all services – fitness center, swimming pool, games, beauty salon, etc. I, however, focus on company’s profit more than Once you have yet to replace my laptop died. This trick, however if you plan to frequently use the Internet, hotel business centers are far from being economic. Take one direct staff nearest Internet cafe? in the city – there are plenty of them and at a fraction of the cost. However, in general, it was hard to get used to what amounts to a 4-5 star center, where the same price that will take four channels and fleas in the States, and live in the lap luxury for most of the week.

Note, however, that my discount rate because I booked five days before my arrival. That’s the trick. The price is still cheap by U.S. standards, and many can reach up to 0 or more, depending on brand and place, is still a business, but it is best to reserve online and join one of carrying book clubs, while you’re at it. You can accumulate points for membership in the shortest time, at prices and on their way to free some future date.

One thing you notice traveling through Beijing, and something I forgot to note on my first trip to China, which is desperately overcrowded. Coming from New York, I am often disturbed by things such as hot weather or crowded streets. If we came from, for example, somewhere in the Adirondacks, however, the trauma could have been enough to plant the next plane home. Beijing, capital of China, is a huge city and second only to Shanghai, the total population. It is a beautiful metropolis, where modern and ancient wonders of wonders are side by side. Just northwest of Beijing proper is a section of the Great Wall. Dating from the seventh century, the wall goes through thousands of miles of rolling peaks that overlook the uneven field and a fascinating insight into China’s capital. As a tourist, it is essential to visit the Great Wall. As big as it seems far from it. It’s like the city of Buffalo in New York. If you are not starting in the city limits, is a day trip anywhere! You have not been to Beijing, if there is seen on the Great Wall, and will be greeted with a strange look of disapproval when a local asks your opinion and … If time allows, to go. If not, tell everyone you did do something. There are a lot of detail crashed into the wall itself, but much less to spin a story in reverse.

In Beijing, the Forbidden City is located, or what is known today as the Palace Museum, which for five centuries it was the imperial palace of Ming and Qing. It has about 10,000 (although I saw the list of 8707) elaborate rooms contain furniture value, decorative screens, paintings and statues, as well as centuries-old gardens with great charm. In general rather than intimidate Changan Street, the door leading to Tiananmen Square, a vast area where the imperial edicts to the public once read. Renmin Yingxiong Jinianbei, a granite column of 125 meters was built in 1958 to honor “Heroes of the People,” is in the middle of like room where the body of Chairman Mao Tse-tung is. In 1949, Communist Party Chairman Mao first raised the flag of China during a ceremony in Beijing. As powerful and influential leader in China for 25 years, his portrait was hung on Tiananmen Gate, where his eyes seem to follow any direction … “Long live China.”

At the southern end of the square is the Museum of History in China, which houses valuable collections of art and artifacts from China’s Tang Dynasty (618-907) tomb of Zhou Dynasty relics and (1050-480 BC) objects bronze Buddhist statues and artifacts of the communist revolution of the early 20th century.

We took a tour of the Palace Museum for an overview map is highly recommended to navigate this vast expanse of flat asphalt Imperial style. What follows is a beam wave after another closed, towers and large rooms with sloping ceilings, is a truly remarkable taste of the 15th century capital of China today. For reference, the Palace Museum occupies over 720,000 square meters with 9,000 bays of halls and rooms. Construction area amounts to approximately 150,000 square meters, and the walls are around 10 meters high and 3428 meters. There is also a moat around the outer walls, measuring 52 meters wide and 3,800 meters. “City” was designed to be a fortified castle … and the argument would carry less of me. Most enemies die of exhaustion only through many steps to and from each successive building in mid-summer or otherwise.

The city is divided into two parts: indoor and outdoor courts. The outside was the place where emperors handled court-mind issues and held various ceremonies, the court was a series of rooms where the emperor lived and handled everyday things. Many of the buildings in the Forbidden City were being refurbished during our visit, but generally was well preserved and is considered the most magnificent ancient architectural complex in China, and the largest palace complex in the world standing. It was really impressive and deserves a long passage of time and enjoy all the rich splendor of this period, and then look through the Forbidden City and see the skyscrapers and bustling streets.

Everyone got in touch with me to Beijing, it is recommended that primary and reasonable place to pour funds. Although I was not there long enough to see significant investment opportunities first hand, I leave with a better understanding of real estate investments. Initial views of China and foreign investment are grim, and rightly so. This is, after all, a great nation in transition, and although the gradual change takes place, it is an old communist guard at the helm, trying to revise a long tradition of youthful exuberance before, and uncertainty. However, given China’s booming economy and its acceptance in the WTO, this should happen, one way or another.

I left there convinced that made sense to invest in Beijing, which is expensive, but my feeling is that it will be one to watch as we approach the 2008 Olympic Games and the renewal of infrastructure and development begin to take shape. In fact, the city will have a major overhaul in preparation for games. There will be a lot of money, both internal and external, which runs there in preparation for the historic event. If the games get there in four years, will be very popular and there is no empty chair.

I have some reservations about investing in property there, even as I write this, but I’m keeping an eye open in the near future. As one of the largest cities in mainland China, Beijing is accumulating overcrowding and zealous in my perception, construction. You can see more unfinished building waving a crane, a reflection of poorly managed projects potential of less known developers. It is a housing bubble that the government is trying to weed through the issuance of inflation as they are evil twin counterbalance the overall progress in dealing with China’s growth rate increased.

As things stand now, property investment remains strong, while interest rates remain attractive, but it is not likely to last long because the government must continue to seek collective belt tightening for a life free spenders large bank loans can be easily and try to pull the economy through a soft landing is often referred to, while avoiding an often difficult feared. Regarding foreign investment, it has become easier in terms of flexibility of the banking system, and most importantly, government stability and transparency to allow a degree of individual investor to do business in a big city like Beijing . Government, which provides federal rather than state-dependent support is a step to encourage foreign investment, which in many cases are still sits outside with a “wait and see”, however, find a good value can be real catch here
